Freshman Basketball Gets Win Over Wadsworth In Holiday Showcase
In a thrilling home game at Magnificat High School, the Magnificat Blue Streaks freshman basketball team secured a hard-fought victory over the Wadsworth Lady Grizzlies on December 27, 2024. The Blue Streaks emerged victorious with a final score of 36-30 in what proved to be a nail-biting showdown avenging an earlier loss to Wadsworth earlier in the season. The game, part of a freshman showcase, saw Magnificat maintaining a lead from halftime, where they were ahead with a score of 19-11. By the end of the event, the Blue Streaks managed to hold their ground against a resilient Wadsworth team. Key players for Magnificat included Sarah Frericks and Elizabeth Foutz, each contributing 9 points, alongside Carmen Castro who added a crucial 7 points to the team’s tally. With this win, Magnificat improves their season record to 7-3. The Blue Streaks are set to host their next game against Notre Dame Academy (Toledo) on January 4, 2025, at Magnificat High School, hoping to carry forward their winning momentum.
