Golf Secures Sectional Championship
Magnificat Golf triumphed in the OHSAA Division I Sectional Tournament held at the Big Met Golf Course on September 30, 2024. Under cloudy skies, the Blue Streaks secured the top spot with a team score of 293, which collected them their 5th consecutive Sectional Championship. Leading the team with outstanding performances was senior Maureen O'Leary, who shot a 71. Following closely were freshman Calli Reed with a score of 72, and both senior Cammy Reed and sophomore Kayla Knaze who each carded a 75. Junior Kristina Chill rounded out the scoring, coming in with a 76. This collective effort was instrumental in giving Magnificat the edge over their competitors. As the Blue Streaks celebrate this significant victory, their sights are firmly set on the next challenge. The team is slated to compete in the OHSAA Division I District Tournament at Brookledge Golf Club in Cuyahoga Falls on October 8, 2024 where they will look for their 4th straight District Title.
