Magnificat Blue Streaks Compete at Avon Reynolds Track and Field Invite
The Magnificat High School Blue Streaks participated in the Avon Reynolds Track and Field Invitational on April 26. Taking the 6th spot out of the 14 teams present is a testament to the team's determination. The Blue Streaks captured the challenge and scored a total of 42 points throughout the event. The team's running events were filled with noteworthy performances. The 4x800 relay team of Ramos-Kelly, Mayer, M. Martin, and Davala, showcased their prowess, finishing second with a season's best time of 9 minutes and 56 seconds. This was gameed by the 4x400 relay quartet of Karabatsos, Davala, Harter, and Ramos-Kelly, who also secured a second-place finish with a season's best time of 4:08. Casey Ansberry impressed in the 100m dash, setting a new personal best time of 12.86, which moved her to the 5th spot in the Mags history for this event. In field events, Madison Miller showcased her versatility, achieving 4th place in high jump with a clearance of 5 feet and also placing 3rd in the long jump with a mark of 15 feet and 7.5 inches. Emily Allman and Allison Eppich contributed to the team's overall effort by placing 4th and 5th in the pole vault. The Avon Reynolds Track and Field Invite provided the Blue Streaks with an opportunity to demonstrate skill and tenacity as they continue to enhance their performance.
