Magnificat Blue Streaks Shine at NEOITC #3 Track Meet, Secure Second Place
The Magnificat High School Blue Streaks track and field team delivered an impressive performance at the NEOITC #3 event held at Spire on February 7, 2025, securing second place with a total of 89 points in the girls varsity category.
The Blue Streaks saw standout individual performances, with several athletes clinching titles in their respective events. Casey Ansberry was the victor in the 60m dash, crossing the finish line at a swift 8.12 seconds. In the 400m dash, Kelly Karabatsos took top honors with a time of 61.87 seconds, showcasing her speed and endurance.
The relay teams also brought excitement and victories for Magnificat. The quartet of Karabatsos, Martin, Ansberry, and Davala dominated the 4x400 relay, winning with a time of 4:13, while the 4x800 team consisting of Davala, Martin, Corrigan, and Sanchez also secured a win with a time of 10:14.
Adding to the school's accolades, Mae McGreal excelled in the high jump event, clearing a height of 5 feet 1 inch, and clinching yet another win for the Blue Streaks.
Overall, the Blue Streaks made a significant impact at the event, collecting individual victories and showcasing their prowess across a range of track and field events.
