Magnificat Blue Streaks Triumph at Indoor Games Invite

The Magnificat High School Blue Streaks track and field team left a mark at the Indoor Games Invite held on Feb. 11 at Spire. The meet featured a host of schools including Avon, Avon Lake, Austintown Fitch, Strongsville, and Stow. The Blue Streaks displayed their prowess on the track and in field events, capturing several notable victories. Perhaps the exclamation point of the event was the 4x400 team, which closed the meet with a win. The quartet of Mariella Mayer, Mikaela Davala, Brooklyn Ramos-Kelly, and Megan Martin secured the top spot with a time of 4:14. In the individual events, the Blue Streaks shone brightly. The 4x200 relay consisting of Caroline Terrell, Frankie DeFranko, Madison Miller, and Casey Ansberry crossed the finish line in second place with a time of 1:54.97, while the 4x800 team delivered a third-place finish at 10:09, formed by Mikaela Davala, Mariella Mayer, Jesse Vargo, and Megan Martin. Allison Sanchez stood out with a third-place finish in the 3200m run, clocking in at 12:34. The 4x800 team also performed well, finishing third overall. In the field events, high jumper Madison Miller achieved a second-place finish with a leap of 5'2". Meanwhile, Emily Allman and Allison Eppich made solid contributions with respective fourth and fifth-place finishes in the pole vault. Reflecting on the monumental leaps achieved, Katelyn Singleton's amusing comment added a touch of light-hearted humor to the team's success. The Blue Streaks look to carry the momentum from this victory as they continue their journey in the track and field season.
