Magnificat Golf - STATE CHAMPIONS!

Magnificat Golf captured the OHSAA Division I State Championship held at NCR Country Club in Kettering on October 14th & October 15th. Despite battling challenging windy, cold, and rainy conditions, the Blue Streaks emerged with the program's first-ever State Title in golf. Sophomore Kayla Knaze and senior Cammy Reed were the standout performers of the tournament for Magnificat, scoring 151 and 152 respectively. Their exceptional performances earned them accolades as they were both named 2nd Team All-Ohio. Freshman Calli Reed carded a score of 157, senior Maureen O'Leary a 158 and junior Kristina Chill a 166 - all of which helped the Blue Streaks in what was a tight tournament for 36 holes. The Blue Streaks initially led by five shots after Day #1. They briefly lost their lead after the first nine holes of Day #2, but they made a remarkable comeback on the back nine, to secure the championship. T As the 2024 state champions, the Magnificat Golf team has undoubtedly left an indelible mark on the OHSAA Division I State Tournament, embodying the spirit and skill of high-level competitive golf. Their achievement not only highlights the individual talents of the players but also their collective strength as a unit, navigating through adversity to emerge victorious.
