Magnificat High School Blue Streaks Advance to Regional Championship

Magnificat High School's girls varsity Cross Country team, known as the Blue Streaks, secured a spot in the upcoming Regional Championship after a challenging district competition on October 18, 2025, at LCCC. The team finished 12th out of 22 teams, qualifying for the regionals as a complete team unit.

Key performances were noted during the event, with Megan Martin leading the Magnificat runners by finishing in 31st place. Following closely were Ally Liller and Lizzie Corrigan, who finished in 35th and 51st place respectively. Additionally, Cassie Cicarella and Ella Zawacki contributed significantly, finishing in the 92nd and 104th spots. Collectively, these results paved the way for the team's advancement.

Coach T encapsulated the day's effort with mixed feelings, stating, 'It wasn't pretty, but we advance for one more week.' This sentiment reflects the challenges faced during the race and the perseverance demonstrated by the Blue Streaks.

Looking ahead, Magnificat High School is scheduled to compete in the Regional Championship on October 25, 2025, at 1:40 pm at the Boardman venue. This upcoming event will offer another opportunity for the team to demonstrate their endurance and skills in this pivotal phase of the competition.
