Magnificat High School Blue Streaks Excel at Olmsted Falls Relays

Magnificat High School's girls track and field team, the Blue Streaks, displayed their prowess with several wins at the Olmsted Falls Relays on May 3. Capturing remarkable individual and collective achievements, the Blue Streaks secured a total of 88 points and finished in 5th place, showcasing their competitive spirit in the relay meet. The event featured teams from Olmsted Falls, Stow, and Strongsville, offering a challenging mix of competition. Although the Blue Streaks landed in the mid-range of the team standings, standout performances illustrated their depth and talent. In the pole vault event, the Magnificat High School trio of Emily Allman, Allison Eppich, and Brianna Papushak were pivotal, clinching the relay win and extending the Magnificat relay record to 30 feet and 6 inches. Furthermore, their record-setting run marked a significant highlight of the meet. Another notable victory came as the 4x400 relay squad comprising Karabatsos, Mayer, Harter, and Davala triumphed with a first-place finish in a time of 4 minutes and 6 seconds. Their ability to seize the event showcased the Blue Streaks' commitment to teamwork and precision. Additionally, the team added to its accomplishments with the sprint medley relay, where Ansberry, Eppich, Ramos-Kelly, and Davala secured first place in an impressive time of 1 minute and 51.05 seconds, ranking as the #2 all-time performance in Magnificat's history. Looking forward, the Blue Streaks will aim to build on this showing as they progress through the track season.
