Magnificat High School Blue Streaks Shine at Regional Track and Field Championship
On May 30, 2025, the Magnificat High School Blue Streaks participated in the Regional Track and Field Championship held in Port Clinton. Competing against schools such as Avon, St Joes, Lorain, Avon Lake, Lakewood, St Johns, and Anthony Wayne, the Blue Streaks girls showcased their talents in various athletic events under perfect weather conditions.
Among the standout performances, the 4x100 team, comprising Chloe Bibbo, Casey Ansberry, Izzy Loeffler, and Kelly Karabatsos, delivered a remarkable performance by finishing 6th with a time of 49.91 seconds. This achievement broke the school's 15-year-old record in the 4x100, marking a significant milestone for the team.
In individual events, Mae McGreal achieved 14th place in the high jump with a jump of 4'10", while Chloe Bibbo also placed 14th in the pole vault, clearing a height of 9'0". On the track, Kelly Karabatsos completed the 400m dash in 14th place with a time of 61.86 seconds. Allison Sanchez achieved 12th place in the 3200m run, recording a time of 12:03.
The relay teams also displayed strong team coordination and endurance. The 4x800 team, consisting of Allison Sanchez, Lily Kuhlman, Shaya Eidson, and Megan Martin, finished 14th, recording a time of 10:05. Furthermore, the 4x400 relay team, featuring Casey Ansberry, Lily Kuhlman, Kelly Karabatsos, and Mikaela Davala, secured 9th place with a time of 4:05.
These performances exemplify the dedication and skill of the Magnificat High School Blue Streaks, contributing to their reputation as formidable competitors in varsity track and field.
