Magnificat High School Blue Streaks Shine at Spire Invitational
Magnificat High School's Track and Field team, the Blue Streaks, delivered an outstanding performance at the Spire Invitational on January 18, 2025. The girls varsity team demonstrated both skill and determination, leading to record-breaking achievements and a strong overall showing.
Highlighting the event were standout performances from two of Magnificat's athletes who set new school records. Kelly Karabatsos was the star in the 300m dash, shattering the previous school indoor record by over 5 seconds with a remarkable time of 43.87. Meanwhile, Mikaela Davala conquered the 600m run, breaking her own record with a blazing time of 1:43.68. Their performances not only set new benchmarks for future Blue Streaks but also brought immense pride to the team and the school.
Additionally, the team's 4x800 relay team, consisting of Davala, Martin, Corrigan, and Blair, demonstrated strong team synergy and endurance, securing a 2nd place finish with a competitive time of 10:13. This performance underscored the depth and talent present within the Blue Streaks' roster, promising much for the future competitions.
