Magnificat High School Competes at the Bay Invite
On April 19, 2025, the Magnificat High School's girls' varsity track and field team, also known as the Blue Streaks, participated in the Bay Invite held in Bay Village. Competing against teams from Gilmour, Trinity, St Joes, Bay, and Padua, the Blue Streaks put forth a valiant effort, placing 8th out of 14 teams, and scoring a total of 34 points.
Highlighting the event were several noteworthy individual performances. Megan Martin took the spotlight with a triumphant first-place finish in the 800m run, clocking in a personal best of 2:26. This victory added a significant number of points to the team's tally. In the high jump events, Sarah Frericks soared to a second-place finish with a jump of 5'0", followed closely by teammate Mae McGreal, who secured third place with a jump of 4'10". Additionally, Mikaela Davala showcased her speed in the 400m dash, finishing 4th with a notable time of 64 seconds.
Despite intermittent rain, the meet unfolded smoothly, with the weather clearing up in time for the events, allowing the athletes to perform at their best. These achievements reflect the dedication and skill of the Blue Streaks' athletes and promise exciting prospects for the remainder of the season.
