Magnificat High School Competes in Ironman Relays, Achieves Remarkable Individual Performances
Magnificat High School's Girls Varsity Track and Field team showcased their skills at the Ironman Relays held at Cleveland Central Catholic on April 11, 2025, securing third place among six competing teams. The Blue Streaks displayed a series of outstanding individual performances in a competitive field that included teams from Cleveland Central Catholic, John Hay, and Hawken.
Highlighting the individual achievements, Riley Bender clinched first place in the high jump event with an impressive leap of 5 feet 2 inches. In another notable performance, Maureen Bryant secured a second-place finish in the long jump, covering a distance of 12 feet 2 inches. Additionally, the girls' shuttle hurdle team, comprising athletes Defranco, Bryant, Vanover, and Kelley, triumphed in their event, clocking a winning time of 1:15.
These achievements underscored the competitive spirit and skill level of the Magnificat High School athletes, contributing to their overall third-place finish at the prestigious event. The team looks forward to building on these successes in their forthcoming meets, as they continue to represent their school with pride and determination.
