Magnificat High School Impresses at McQuaid Invite in Rochester
The Magnificat High School girls varsity cross country team delivered a strong performance at the prestigious McQuaid Invite in Rochester, NY on September 28, 2024. Competing against a challenging field of 41 schools, the 'Blue Streaks' secured an admirable 4th place finish.
Faced with strong competition, standout performances came from several team members. Allison Sanchez led the Blue Streaks by finishing 20th overall with a competitive time of 19:51. Closely following her were Megan Martin and Ally Liller, who finished 26th and 28th respectively, with times of 20:18 and 20:20. Additionally, Lizzie Corrigan and Cassie Cicarella made significant contributions, finishing in 58th and 72nd place with times of 21:06 and 21:36.
The team's resolve was summed up by their coach's motivating words before the race, "We traveled this far, go represent." Such determination was evidently on display as the squad navigated the challenges of the race, ultimately securing a top finish and marking a successful outing at the McQuaid Invite.
