Magnificat High School Makes a Strong Showing at Midwest Catholic XC Championship
Magnificat High School's Cross Country team, known affectionately as the Blue Streaks, delivered a commendable performance at the Midwest Catholic XC Championship/Friendship Invite held in Cedarville, Ohio on September 21, 2024. Competing among 31 teams in the Girls Varsity event, the Blue Streaks secured the 13th position, showcasing their resilience and team spirit.
The highlight of the meet was Megan Martin, who stood out with a remarkable performance by finishing 20th with a time of 21:33, underscoring her talent and dedication to the sport. Her achievement brought additional recognition to Magnificat High School in this highly competitive event.
Reflecting the team's camaraderie and enthusiasm, Mae Mcgreal shared a spirited sentiment, "We have legs!" which perfectly captured the energy and determination of the team. Coach T also contributed to the team's motivation with words of encouragement, remarking, "You are blessed to be running at 9:30, just think if you ran at 12:30." This statement likely provided a psychological boost, emphasizing the advantage of their scheduled run time.
As the season progresses, the Blue Streaks are showing promising signs of improvement and competitiveness. Their achievement at Cedarville is a testament to their hard work and the effective guidance of their coaching staff.
