Magnificat High School Track and Field at Regionals: Blue Streaks Qualify Multiple Athletes for State Meet
The Magnificat High School Blue Streaks' track and field team exhibited inspiring performances during the Regional Championship held in Port Clinton. The Blue Streaks competed in the Regionals on May 24, where they secured a 20th place finish out of 48 teams with a total of 13.5 points. Notably, the event saw several athletes earn qualifications for the OHSAA State Meet and deliver standout individual showings. Madison Miller soared over a height of 5 feet 2 inches to clinch a third-place finish in the high jump, a performance that earned her a place at the state event. Furthermore, Mikaela Davala's blistering pace in the 400-meter dash earned her a second-place finish and a ticket to the state meet with a time of 57.58 seconds. The girls sprint and relay events displayed notable strength for the Blue Streaks. Casey Ansberry concluded her impressive season with an 11th place finish in the 100m dash, while the 4x400 relay team of Davala, Harter, Ramos-Kelly, and Mayer clocked in at 4:07 to secure the 10th spot. The Blue Streaks also excelled in the pole vault event, where Emily Allman concluded her high school career with a 12th place finish after clearing a height of 10 feet 4 inches. This accomplishment represents both individual and team strength among female athletes, contributing to the rich tradition of excellence set by the Magnificat Blue Streaks in track and field.
