The Magnificat High School Blue Streaks girls' track and field team participated in the Girls Elite Meet Invite on April 13 at Glen Oak. The Blue Streaks finished 23rd out of 40 teams, scoring 11.5 points. In the 4x800 event, the team of Davala, Mayer, Ramos-Kelly, and Martin displayed their strength, crossing the finish line in 7th place with a time of 10 minutes and 19 seconds. Madison Miller leapt to a 4th place finish in the high jump, clearing a height of 5 feet. The pole vault event saw Emily Allman reaching new heights as she clinched a 4th place position boasting a height of 10 feet and 6 inches. Coach's appreciation for the effort was evident. "This isn't a failure of a day. Its the best kind of day possible. Its an eye opener with so much season remaining," the coach said. Amid the action of the event, off the track, Eleanor Mitchell's perseverance had everyone on the team pulling together as she scoured almost an hour for her misplaced car keys. A testament to the team's spirit, even after competition, the Blue Streaks remained united in their support for a successful end to the day.
