Magnificat High School's Track and Field Team Shines at Strongsville Invite
In a showing of speed and endurance, Magnificat High School's varsity girls' track and field team, known as the Blue Streaks, secured a commendable third place in a competitive field of eight teams at the Strongsville Invite held on March 29, 2025. The event, located in Strongsville, featured challenging competition against teams from Strongsville, Brunswick, Berea, Rittman, and Lorain.
The Blue Streaks showcased their prowess in various track events, with notable performances in both team and individual categories. The 4x800 relay team, composed of Sanchez, Kuhlman, Martin, and Vargo, delivered an exceptional race, finishing second with a time of 10:26. Additionally, Casey Ansberry made a remarkable impact by finishing second in both the 100m dash with a time of 13.05 seconds and the 200m dash clocking in at 27.00 seconds. On the distance front, Allison Sanchez captured second in the 3200m run, posting a time of 12:03.
In field events, Sarah Frericks stood out by securing second place in the high jump, clearing a height of 4'10". The warm weather provided a perfect backdrop for the athletes to perform at their best, contributing to an exciting and rewarding day for the Blue Streaks as they continue to build momentum in their season.
