Magnificat JV Basketball Secures Dominant Victory Over Padua Bruins
In a display of basketball proficiency, the Magnificat High School JV Blue Streaks secured a resounding victory against the Padua Bruins with a final score of 53-12 on January 23, 2025. Held at Magnificat, this regular season clash was not only a game but also a part of the Senior Night, adding a festive atmosphere to the night's proceedings. From the outset, the Blue Streaks demonstrated a strong command of the game, building a formidable lead by halftime with a staggering score of 46-2. This early advantage set the tone for the rest of the contest. Lizzie Godlewski led the scoring with 10 points, closely followed by Lauren Beck and Elise LaPorte, who each added 9 points. Jayne Fitzpatrick contributed significantly with 7 points. Supporting efforts came from Abbey Cupach and Ella Hummer, who scored 6 points each. The game also stood out as a celebration of the varsity team's seven Seniors, an element that Coach Sara Spicer highlighted in her remarks, stating, "It was nice to start out the night with a victory. Tonight is all about the seven Seniors on the varsity team."
