Magnificat JV Secures Victory Over Saint Joseph Academy Jaguars in Exciting Comeback

In an exciting rivalry matchup, the JV Basketball Blue Streaks clinched a hard-fought victory against the Saint Joseph Academy on December 12, 2024. The regular season basketball game, held at Saint Joseph, saw the Blue Streaks turn the tide in their favor to win 43-38. The game started off challenging for Magnificat as they trailed the Jaguars 12-3 after the first quarter. However, an impressive rally in the second and third quarters allowed the Blue Streaks to seize the lead. Despite the Jaguars tying the game in the fourth quarter, Magnificat maintained their composure and secured the win. Key players included Elise LaPorte, who scored a game-high 17 points, Avery Maslar with 11 points, and Moira Chambers contributing 6 points. The defensive effort was spearheaded by Lizzie Godlewski and Ella Hummer, whose performance on the court was pivotal. Lauren Beck's control of the play and Jayne Fitzpatrick's contribution also played significant roles in the win.
