ROCKY RIVER, Ohio - Magnificat High School built a three-goal halftime lead on its way to a 5-0 road victory over Chagrin Falls on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at Chagrin Falls HS. The Blue Streaks added two goals after the break.
The opening half supplied all the scoring Magnificat would need, with the Blue Streaks pairing their three goals with a scoreless defensive effort. That combination established a 3-0 advantage before halftime and left Chagrin Falls needing to recover from a multiple-goal deficit over the final half.
Magnificat extended the margin rather than allowing a comeback, outscoring Chagrin Falls 2-0 in the second half. The Blue Streaks scored in both halves while keeping their opponent off the scoreboard throughout the match. The road result came during a scheduled 7 p.m. matchup, with clear skies and a game-time temperature of 84 degrees.
Magnificat (10-5-1) reached the 10-win mark in its 16th match, while Chagrin Falls (8-5-2) took its fifth loss through 15 contests. The victory left the Blue Streaks with twice as many wins as losses. Their five-goal margin was secured without conceding a goal in either half.
