Magnificat High School faced one of the strongest fields in northeast Ohio on Saturday and came away with several breakthrough performances at the regional championship at 14713 Ridge Rd, North Royalton, OH 44133. The Blue Streaks finished 16th with 13 points in a 21-team meet, led by a state-qualifying effort from Chloe Bibbo in the women’s pole vault and personal-best races from Kelly Karabatsos and the 4x400-meter relay.

The biggest result of the day came in the women’s pole vault, where Chloe Bibbo cleared 10 feet, 8 inches to place fifth and secure a trip to Columbus. The mark was a personal record and gave Magnificat its signature moment in a meet that brought together the area’s top teams competing for a chance to advance to the state meet.

On the track, Kelly Karabatsos delivered another major performance in the women’s 400-meter dash. She finished fifth in 59.15 seconds, a personal-best time that added more points to the Blue Streaks’ total and continued a strong postseason run. Her finish gave Magnificat a second top-five showing against a deep regional field.

Magnificat also closed the meet with a strong performance in the women’s 4x400-meter relay. The team of Kuhlman, Ansberry, Karabatsos and Watson placed sixth in a season-best 4:06, adding another scoring finish for the Blue Streaks. The relay’s result capped the day with one more qualifying-level effort and underscored the team’s ability to produce under championship pressure.

With a state berth for Chloe Bibbo, a personal-best regional finish from Kelly Karabatsos, and a season-best close in the 4x400 relay, Magnificat left the regional meet with tangible momentum. The Blue Streaks did not match the top of the team standings, but their best performances came when the stakes were highest, and that sent the program forward with a clear postseason reward.
