Varsity Basketball Ends Regular Season With Tough 53-47 Victory Over Green
Magnificat Varsity Basketball secured a hard-fought victory against the Green by a final score of 53-47. The matchup, which took place at the Green High School, saw the Blue Streaks demonstrating tenacity and skill, clinching their 7th straight win that boosts their final regular season record to an impressive 17-5. The game commenced with Magnificat establishing a strong lead by halftime, marking the scoreboard at 28-12. Key contributions came from seniors Reese Roggenburk with 18 points, while Julia Hall and Sophia LaPorte added 12 and 9 points, respectively. The Bulldogs made a push in the second half and took the lead briefly at 41-40 before the Blue Streaks closed the game at the foul line to gain the win. Looking ahead, Magnificat is set to face the winner of the John Hay/Normandy contest on February 22nd at Valley Forge HS in the OHSAA Division I District Championship.
