Varsity Basketball Rolls Past Rival Saint Joseph Academy 64-31
Magnificat Varsity Basketball delivered a commanding performance against their archrival Saint Joseph Academy. The Blue Streaks controlled the contest from wire to wire to bring home a resounding 64-31 victory. From the outset, Magnificat set the pace, leading at halftime with a score of 27-16. The team's resilience and strategic plays were on full display as they maintained their lead throughout the game. Senior Reese Roggenburk led the way with an impressive 17 points & 4 steals, followed by fellow senior Julia Hall with 12 points and junior Gemma Wichmann contributing 11 points & an impressive 14 rebounds. Senior Sofia Wilson not only added 10 points but also showcased her all-around skills with 7 rebounds, 7 assists & 6 steals, highlighting her critical role in the team's success. The victory pushes Magnificat's winning streak to 4 games and gives the Blue Streaks a current record to 4-1 for the season. The Blue Streaks' next challenge is a home game against Copley, scheduled for December 20th at Magnificat High School. The Junior Varsity team & Freshman team also defeated the Jaguars by scores of 43-38 & 31-24 respectively to give the Blue Streaks a clean sweep for the evening.
