Varsity Field Hockey Grabs 3-1 Victory Over Hawken
Magnificat Varsity Field Hockey faced off against the Hawken in an early regular season game at Karnatz Family Field at Magnificat High School. The day ended successfully for the Blue Streaks with a final score of 3-1, marking a significant win to begin their season. The game began on an equal footing, with both teams displaying strong defensive and offensive skills. By halftime, the score was tied at 1-1, setting the stage for a nail-biting second half. Freshman Alison Ardire was a standout player, scoring two goals for the Blue Streaks and greatly contributing to their lead. Junior Aine Stein also played a crucial role, scoring the game-winning goal on a penalty stroke that solidified the Blue Streaks' victory over the Hawks. With this win, the Blue Streaks improve their season record to 2-0 overall and maintain their perfect record in the league. The team looks forward to their next match on August 23, 2025, against Mount Notre Dame from Cincinnati, which will also be held at Karnatz Family Field at Magnificat High School.
