In a nail-biting soccer encounter at the Brunswick Auto Mart Stadium, Magnificat Varsity Soccer edged out Brunswick with a close 1-0 victory. The match, part of the regular season lineup, saw both teams locked at a 0-0 stalemate at halftime, setting the stage for a dramatic second half. Sophomore Kalli Sdrakas became the hero of the day, scoring the only goal of the encounter and securing the win for Magnificat. Lydia Hamad, the goalkeeper for Magnificat, played a crucial role, maintaining a clean sheet throughout the game while saving 7 shots. With this win, Magnificat now holds a season record of 3-2-2. Looking ahead, the team is set to face Olentangy Liberty at Karnatz Family Field at Magnificat High School on Saturday, September 7th @ 4:00pm.
