Varsity Soccer Gets Victory Over Hathaway Brown In Regular Season Finale
In their final regular season game, Magnificat Varsity Soccer claimed a decisive 3-0 win against Hathaway Brown School. The match, held on October 9, 2024, at Saint Edward HS, showcased Magnificat's strong play under cool and dry conditions. From the start, Magnificat showcased their dominance, establishing a 2-0 lead by halftime thanks to impressive goals from junior Isabel Boland and sophomore Greta Trapp. The momentum continued in the second half with senior Mary Garcia adding another goal on a penalty kick, sealing the victory for the Blue Streaks. Defensive prowess was equally on display with goalkeepers sophomore Lydia Hamad and freshman Abby Garcia maintaining a clean sheet throughout the game. As the regular season wraps up, Magnificat now looks forward with anticipation to their upcoming OHSAA Division I District Semifinal contest against Stow-Monroe Falls on October 21st. Despite a challenging schedule and a regular season final record of 4-6-7, the Blue Streaks are eager to continue their competitive spirit and aim for further victories.
