Varsity Softball Wins Inaugural Karnatz Family Field Game 3-1 Over Avon Lake
The first softball game on Karnatz Family Field at Magnificat High School was a victorious event for the Blue Streaks. Magnificat Varsity Softball team played against Avon Lake claiming a 3-1 win. This triumph took the Blue Streaks' current record to 2-0 for the regular season. Seniors Ruari Dever & Kate Hershey along with freshman Katie Pence were responsible for the runs on the scoreboard, with the trio delivering when the Blue Streaks needed it most. Key RBIs came from junior Vanessa Roth and seniors Summer Solitaria, & Dever, The game was characterized by a tight scoreline and remarkable pitching by the Blue Streaks' starting pitcher senior Rachel Witalis, who recorded 12 strikeouts, Besides the on-field highlights, history was made as the game marked the commencement of the softball legacy at Karnatz Family Field. With the next game lined up for April 2 in Orlando, Florida, the Blue Streaks are setting their sights on continued success that will carry over from the inaugural game.
