Normandy High School Invaders Girls Wrestling Secure 3rd Place at the Avon Lake Tournament

The Invaders turned in a strong team performance this weekend at Avon Lake High School on December 7th, securing 3rd place overall in a competitive field. Several athletes delivered standout efforts on the mat. Layla Simmons and Sahlara Issa each battled through tough brackets to earn 6th-place finishes. Bella Bonelli continued her steady season with a solid 5th-place finish, while Miyah Makoski broke into the upper placements, taking 4th place. The Invaders also celebrated two finalists, as Brooke Yontosh and Gabby Lopez both advanced to their championship matches and earned impressive runner-up (2nd-place) finishes. With momentum building and multiple podium performances, the team now turns its attention to its next test at Vermilion High School on December 21st.
