Normandy High School Invaders Volleyball Team Gears Up for Home Opener

The Normandy High School Invaders volleyball team is set to launch their season with a home opener against Mayfield on Monday, August 18th. The series of games will begin at 4:30 p.m. with the Freshman team taking the court first at the Normandy Gym located on 2500 W. Pleasant Valley Road in Parma, OH. The JV and then the Varsity matches follow. Head coach Carolyn Holt Balis, leading the team once again this year, expressed optimism about the upcoming season. Her roster includes key players such as seniors Ariana Valentin Rivera, Anais Valentin Rivera, Morgan Seeley, and Adriana Shelley, juniors Karolina Kciuk and Saneya Gibson, sophomores Jessica Chuba, Addison Giraldo, and Maddie Kirk, and freshman Taylor Shaw. Other players expected to contribute are seniors Emily Rutkowsky, Joselyn Alvarado, and sophomore Peyton Sinkiewicz. Coach Balis has her sights set on battling for the conference championship in the tough Cleveland West Conference. The roster showcases a blend of experienced and young talent, poised to make a significant impact this season. With a strong lineup and strategic insights from Coach Balis, the Invaders look forward to a competitive season ahead.
