Northeastern Junior College Men's Golf Shines at Home Tournament

STERLING, CO - The Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen had a significant showing at their home turf during the Regular Season Region IX Tournament held at River View Golf Course on April 9, 2025. The standout performance was led by Ryan Ewoniuk, who earned the title of DDC Golfer of the Tournament, showcasing his skills with scores of 75 and 71 in two rounds to secure a seventh-place finish. Ewoniuk's performance was the highlight of the event, but he wasn't the only Plainsman to put up impressive numbers. His teammates made notable contributions with their consistent play over the two-day event. Seth Morrison registered scores of 76 and 78, while Tyler Miller posted 78 and 76. Jake Legg started strong with a 72 but faced challenges on the second day, finishing with an 85. The team's depth was further showcased by performances from Kasen McNeilly (84 and 80), Airoughn Morris (88 and 87), Jackson Norris (82 and 94), Gage Gibson (86 and 90), Diego Mondragon (89 and 89), and Ryder McConnell (87 and 92). With this tournament behind them, the Plainsmen look ahead to their next challenge at the Region IX Regular Season Tournament in Torrington, WY, scheduled for April 11, 2025. The team hopes to carry the momentum from their home event into the upcoming competition, aiming to continue their strong performance in the regional circuit.
