Northeastern Junior College Plainwomen Clinch Victory at NJCAA Volleyball Championships

The Northeastern Junior College volleyball team, showcased exceptional skill and determination as they swept Utah State Eastern Golden Eagles at the NJCAA National Championships in Clarksville, TN. The Plainswomen dominated the court from start to finish, securing a decisive 3-0 victory winning 25-13, 25-14, and 25-10. Samantha Mosley led the charge with 9 kills, while Rosa Brencic and Fran Nuzzo contributed 6 kills each. Key defensive plays were significant in the victory, with Natalie Moore delivering an astounding 7 blocks. Samantha Mosley and Fran Nuzzo also provided critical blocks, tallying 4 and 3 respectively. The defense was further bolstered by Avery Burdette's 8 digs, which were crucial in deflecting the offensive drives by the Golden Eagles. In a game characterized by strong serving, Nerea Alvarez Jorge was the standout, contributing 7 aces, keeping USUE’s offense out of system. Her impressive effort didn't stop there, as she also provided 22 assists. Rosa Brencic's performance earned her the DDC Player of the Game, a moment of recognition that underlines her contribution to the team's success. In reflection of the team’s successful strategy, the coach praised the players by stating, 'We did a great job executing the game plan of aggressive serves and closing the block.” With this win, the Plainswomen improve their record to 32-6 and advance to play for 5th place in the nation tomorrow vs MSU-West Plains. As they continue their journey in the championships, supporters and enthusiasts eagerly anticipate another strong performance, bolstered by the team's show of resilience and skill. The next game promises to be a critical one as the Plainwomen aim to solidify their standing as one of the premier teams in the NJCAA.
