Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen Drop Home Contest Against North Platte Knights

Trevor Chintala | Northeastern Junior College | Jan 29, 2025

STERLING, CO – On January 28, 2025, the Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen faced a tough home contest against the North Platte Community College Knights at the Bank of Colorado Event Center, falling 81-68 in a highly competitive South Region basketball game.

Despite strong performances from the Plainsmen's players, including Quis Davis scoring 19 points and Kaamil Domingo achieving a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds, the team couldn't secure a victory. With this result, Northeastern Junior College's record now stands at 7-14 for the season, as they strive to improve and sharpen their gameplay.

After the game, Coach Trenkle expressed the need for strategic changes, emphasizing, "we need to move the ball more to create more assists and need to continue working on committing less turnovers." These adjustments are crucial as the Plainsmen prepare to host McCook Community College back at the Bank of Colorado Event Center on January 31, looking to flip their fortunes and push back up the standings.
