Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen Secure 7th at District Tournament
The Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen men's golf team concluded their season with a strong performance at the Post Season District Tournament held at The Olde Course in Loveland, CO, on April 25, 2025. The Plainsmen finished in a commendable 7th place, demonstrating their resilience and skill in a highly competitive field.
Jake Legg emerged as a standout performer for the Plainsmen, earning the title of DDC Golfer of the Round. Legg's consistent play, with scores of 75 in the first two rounds and a final round of 78, secured him the 21st place in the tournament. His performance was a highlight for the team, showcasing his dedication and skill.
Other team members also made significant contributions. Ryan Ewoniuk finished tied for 19th after shooting rounds of 73, 74, and 79. Kasen McNeilly ended tied for 29th with rounds of 76, 82, and 80, while Seth Morrison and Tyler Miller finished 33rd and 34th respectively after battling through their rounds.
Reflecting on the season, Coach Harbart shared, "It was a fun season, we saw some improvements over the year. We will miss the sophomores, but are excited to see the freshman come back stronger and see what the incoming freshman have to offer." The Plainsmen's strong finish and the development of their players throughout the season point towards a promising future for the team. As they bid farewell to their graduating sophomores, the focus turns to the returning and incoming freshmen who are expected to build on this season's successes.
