Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen Wrestling Team Competes at Open Tournament
The Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen participated in an Open Tournament at the Colorado School of Mines on November 9, 2025. Featuring the Plainsmen Men's College Wrestling team, this event marked a significant kickoff for their season, allowing many wrestlers to engage in their first match of the year. The team showed a commendable performance with a total of 13 wins accumulated throughout the day, involving contributions from 11 different wrestlers. Notably, DDC Wrestler of the Tournament, Chad Teters and Angel Vela stood out by each securing 2 victories, contributing to the team's strong results. According to Coach Duncan, it was an invaluable experience for the team. He noted, 'It was great to see the entire team get the chance to compete. Multiple guys wrestled really tough and I think we saw some good signs as to what this team is capable of.' Looking ahead, the Plainsmen are set to face Western Wyoming Community College on November 20, 2025, at the Northeastern Junior College. Currently, the team holds a record of 1-1 for the season.
