Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen Wrestling Team Faces Tough Dual Scrimmage Against Colorado Mesa University Mavericks

On November 1, 2025, the Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen men's varsity wrestling team participated in a challenging dual scrimmage at Colorado Mesa University, competing against the Mavericks. This event marked a significant experience for many of the Plainsmen wrestlers, as it was the first college match for several team members. The dual meet concluded with the Plainsmen unable to secure a victory, finishing with a score of 0-47. Despite the challenging outcome, the event highlighted key moments emphasizing the team's potential and spirited performance against a division 2 school. The coach of the Plainsmen, Coach Duncan, commented on the match, expressing his enthusiasm for the team's efforts: 'It was exciting to see these guys wrestle hard against a division 2 school. With many of the guys wrestling their first college match ever, I think they showed a lot of promise.' A standout performance was noted from wrestler Teagan Jacobs, who, despite losing, was recognized as the DDC Wrestler of the Match after a tough bout ending with a close decision score of 6-9. The match between Jacobs and his opponent was a highlight of the scrimmage, showcasing both resilience and skill. Looking ahead, the Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen are scheduled to compete next on November 9, 2025, at their home facility against Northwest Wyoming.
