Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen Wrestling Team Falls to Northwest Wyoming College Trappers

The Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen faced a challenging dual match against the Northwest Wyoming College Trappers on November 8, 2025, at Northeastern Junior College. Despite a spirited performance, the Plainsmen were defeated with a final score of 9-34. Key performances included Ryan Gonzales, who was recognized as the DDC wrestler of the match. Gonzales secured a 10-6 decision win, contributing crucial points for the Plainsmen. Another notable moment was when Ethan Sinclair was engaged in a competitive matchup which ended prematurely due to his opponent's injury. Reflecting on the match, Coach Duncan stated, 'Northwest is a top 10 team every season and is always going to be a tough matchup. I think there are several matches we lost that could easily be a win later into the year. I look forward to our guys learning from this match and improving moving forward.' The Plainsmen, currently with a season record of 1-1, look ahead to their next competition at the Mines Rookie Open, hosted by Colorado School of Mines on November 9, 2025.
