Northeastern Junior College Plainswomen Basketball Team Faces Defeat Against College of Southern Idaho
The Northeastern Junior College Plainswomen basketball team traveled to Twin Falls, ID, to confront the College of Southern Idaho Golden Eagles on November 29, 2025. Despite their efforts, the Plainswomen faced a challenging opponent and ultimately fell to the Golden Eagles with a final score of 47 to 77. The game began with the Plainswomen trying to establish a rhythm, but the Golden Eagles took an early lead. By halftime, the Plainswomen were trailing, with the score at 26 for NJC to 44 for CSI. Key players for NJC included Madison Sepeda, who led the scoring with 11 points, followed closely by Daniela Garcia Gasco and Markella Psarra, each chipping in 9 points. Garcia Gasco also shared top rebounding honors with Psarra; both players grabbed 8 rebounds while Riley Phelps contributed 6. Despite the scoreboard, Daniela Garcia Gasco's performance did not go unnoticed as she was named the DDC Player of the Game. The Plainswomen struggled to close the sizable halftime gap, ultimately finishing the game 30 points behind their opponent. Looking ahead, the Northeastern Junior College Plainswomen have their next game scheduled for December 2, 2025, against Eastern Wyoming at the Bank of Colorado Event Center. The Plainswomen, with a current season record of 2-7, are focused on improving their standings in the upcoming games.
