Northeastern Junior College Plainswomen Conclude Golf Tournament in La Junta
The Northeastern Junior College Plainswomen concluded their participation in a recent Region IX regular season golf tournament held on March 20 and21, 2025, in La Junta, Colorado. The team posted a combined score of 403, displaying a concerted effort under the challenging conditions of the competition. Kendall Velder stood out with her impressive performance, earning the distinction of DDC Golfer of the Weekend. Velder scored a 92 in the first round and an 89 in the second round, which solidly placed her 11th in the tournament rankings. This achievement highlights her skill and consistency on the golf course. In addition to Velder's performance, Kennedy Halper also participated, scoring 107 and 115 in her rounds, which contributed to the team’s overall effort. The Plainswomen are set to continue their competitive season, with their next engagement scheduled for March 27 and 28, 2025, in McCook, Nebraska, for another Region IX regular season tournament. This upcoming event offers the team a chance to build on their experience and performances from La Junta.
