Northeastern Junior College Plainswomen Face Setback Against LCCC Golden Eagles in Basketball Clash
In a challenging face-off on November 18, 2025, the Northeastern Junior College Plainswomen Basketball team faced the LCCC Golden Eagles at Cheyenne, Wyoming. The game saw intense moments from both sides, ending in a 48-93 loss for NJC. From the beginning, the Golden Eagles took a significant lead, with the halftime score reflecting the tough battle as NJC trailed at 17-50. Despite the uphill struggle, NJC showed moments of resilience. Markella Psarra emerged as the top scorer for the Plainswomen, securing 12 points in her impressive efforts, followed by Daniela Garcia Gasco, Madison Sepeda, and Riley Phelps, each adding 8 points to the team's tally. Gasco also showcased her all-round capabilities by leading with 3 assists, matched by teammate Veronica Baray. Defensive efforts were highlighted by Rebekah Seggerman who led the team with 2 steals. Daniela Garcia Gasco was honored as the DDC Player of the Game, a testament to her valuable contributions despite the challenging game conditions. The Plainswomen are now looking forward to their next game against Eastern Wyoming in Torrington, Woming on November 20, 2025, with hopes to improve their current 2-3 record.
