Northeastern Junior College Plainswomen Fall to New Mexico JC in Strong Showdown

In a closely contested basketball game on December 12, 2025, the Northeastern Junior College Plainswomen faced off against the New Mexico Junior College Thunderbirds in Hobbs, NM. Despite a spirited performance, the Plainswomen fell 76-87 to the Thunderbirds. By halftime, the Plainswomen trailed with a score of 36 to the Thunderbirds' 50. Monique Sena, a standout player, scored 16 points, making a significant impact in her home state. Alongside her, DDC Player of the Game Rebekah Seggerman and Yaly Ben Harush each contributed 14 points, showing strong offensive skills. Daniela Garcia Gasco also played a crucial role, leading with 8 rebounds and cinching 4 assists, supported by Harush with 3 assists. The game concluded with the Plainswomen at 76 points against the Thunderbirds' 87. Despite the loss, the performance showcased the team's resilience and skill, with Coach remarking, 'You give your chance to win when you believe.' Looking ahead, the Plainswomen will face Ranger College on December 13, 2025, at the same location in Hobbs, NM, as they seek to improve their current season record of 2-11.
