Northeastern Junior College Plainswomen Narrowly Miss Victory in Overtime Thriller
In a dramatic clash at the Bank of Colorado Event Center on December 2, 2025, the Northeastern Junior College Plainswomen basketball team faced off against the Eastern Wyoming Lancers in a game that pushed the limits, extending into overtime before the Plainswomen were narrowly defeated with a score of 70-72. The game started evenly, with both teams exchanging leads, but by halftime, the Plainswomen were trailing slightly at 24-28. Highlights of the game included standout performances from DDC Player of the Game Daniela Garcia Gasco, who scored 15 points and led with a remarkable 17 rebounds. Other significant contributors were Yaly Ben Harush, Monique Sena, and Madison Sepeda, each adding 13 points to the team's tally. Sepeda also led the team in assists and steals with 4 and 3 respectively, which were crucial in keeping the Plainswomen in contention. Despite a hard-fought second half that saw the NJC team force the game into overtime, the victory slipped through their fingers with the Plainswomen just two points shy of Eastern Wyoming's final score at the end of overtime. This game marks another challenging moment in the season for the Plainswomen, whose current record stands at 2-8. Looking forward, the Plainswomen are set to face Northwest College in Rock Springs, WY, on December 5, 2025.
