In an exhilarating pre-season volleyball contest, the Northeastern Junior College Plainswomen secured a narrow victory over Eastern Arizona College Gila Monsters on August 23, 2025, at the New Mexico Military Institute. The Plainswomen triumphed with a final score of 3-2, tipping the scales in a fiercely contested match.
The Plainswomen began the match with determination, winning the first set 25-22. Eastern Arizona College responded in kind, taking the second set 25-22 and the third set 25-18, showcasing competitive spirit and challenging the Plainswomen to step up their game. Northeastern Junior College displayed remarkable resilience, clinching the fourth set 26-24 in a nail-biting finish, and continued their momentum, decisively winning the fifth set 15-9.
Sophomore star right-side Samantha Mosley was named DDC Player of the Match for her commanding presence at the net, which played a crucial role in the Plainswomen's offensive strategy during the match.
