The Northeastern Junior College Plainswomen secured a significant victory in the Region IX tournament, defeating North Platte Community College with a final score of 3-1. The match, held on November 6, 2025, in Scottsbluff, NE, saw Northeastern emerge victorious in a crucial post-season event. The Northeastern Plainswomen established an early lead, capturing the first set with a seven-point margin at 25-19. The second set proved slightly more challenging, yet they continued their successful streak with a 25-22 win. However, the third set saw North Platte making a strong comeback, besting Northeastern 25-23 and marking their only set win of the encounter. Unfazed, Northeastern delivered a stellar performance in the fourth set, overwhelming North Platte by a wide margin of 25-10 and thus clinching the match. Notably, Samantha Mosley was a standout performer in this match. Recognized as the DDC player of the game, she contributed 11 kills and was pivotal in scoring and blocking, providing the much-needed edge during critical moments of the game. Her efforts underscored Northeastern's competitive spirit and strategic execution. After this victory, Northeastern Junior College proudly advances its season record to 31-3. Looking ahead, the Plainswomen are scheduled to face Casper College next in the ongoing tournament on November 7, 2025, again at Scottsbluff, NE.
