Northeastern Junior College Volleyball Wins Pre Season Match Against Colby Community College

In an exhilarating Pre Season volleyball match on August 29, 2025, the Northeastern Junior College Plainswomen secured a substantial victory over the highly ranked Colby Community College Trojans. The event, hosted at Laramie County Community College, concluded with scores favoring NJC at 3-0. The match began tensely with Northeastern Junior College narrowly winning the first set 25-27. However, the Plainswomen showcased their resilience and strategic prowess in the subsequent sets. They dominated the second set with a 25-17 win, followed by an even more decisive 25-14 win in the third set, closing off the match with energy and confidence. Key contributions came from several players. Kiera Heavan LOE led with 12 kills, closely followed by Samantha Mosley who contributed 8 kills. On the defensive end, Evelyn Gavette's performance earned her the DDC Player of the match title. Gavette had an excellent game defensively, managing 13 digs. Her ability to read the defense played a crucial role in keeping NJC in system throughout the match. In serving, Kaitlyn Barnes impressed with 3 aces, while also contributing significantly with 4 block assists. Stella Carrer facilitated the team's offense expertly with 25 assists, while Natalie Moore, along with Kaitlyn Barnes and Taelynn Epple, solidified the team's defense with impactful block assists. The Plainswomen's consistent high energy and ability to halt Colby's scoring runs were crucial to their triumph. Up next for Northeastern Junior College Volleyball is their clash against Snow College on August 30, 2025, at Laramie County Community College. NJC's current record stands at 4-2, promising more exciting performances in this season.
