Plainsmen Golf Scores Fifth at Region IX Tournament in McCook
The Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen golf team secured a 5th place finish at the Region IX Regular Season Tournament held in McCook, NE on March 28, 2025. In an exceptional display of skill and determination, Tyler Miller, the standout performer for the Plainsmen, was honored as the DDC Golfer of the Weekend. Miller showcased his prowess by carding rounds of 79 and 74, landing him tied for 15th place.
Other members of the team also put forth commendable efforts with remarkable rounds. Ryan Ewoniuk shot an 81 followed by an impressive 72, while Seth Morrison and Jake Legg recorded rounds of 77 and 84, and 78 and 87, respectively. Additionally, Gage Gibson contributed with scores of 85 and 88, and Airoughn Morris turned in performances of 97 and 93.
The Plainsmen are now gearing up for their next challenge at the Region IX Home Tournament, which will be hosted at River View Golf Course in Sterling, CO., on April 3, 2025. The team is eager to leverage their experience from McCook and hope to improve their standings on their home turf.
