Wildcats Defeat Lutheran East Falcons in Basketball

The Wildcats basketball team triumphed in a game against the Lutheran East Falcons on Jan. 27 at Sullivan Gym. The Wildcats secured a standout regular season victory, with a halftime lead of 34-22 and a final score of 78-62, bringing their current team record to 13-4. Leading the pack was Quinn Woidke with a game-high 17 points. Joining the score sheet were Kallie Johnson and Matt Ellis, who both contributed with 10 points each. Reece Robinson's all-around performance included not only scoring 8 points but also grabbing 12 rebounds. The highlight of the game came from Jack Zapolnik who orchestrated a between-the-legs pass to Woidke, leading to a momentum-changing 3-pointer that extended the Wildcats' lead to 12. "This was another tough game on our schedule, but we played as a team and came away with a great win," said Matt Ellis. Their coach, Joyce, expressed pride in the team's recent performances, acknowledging the challenging schedule and the team's unwavering readiness. Moving forward, the Wildcats will face the Saint Edward Eagles at Saint Edward High School on Feb. 2.
