Wildcats Place Ninth at Strongsville Meet After Week Off

STRONGSVILLE, Ohio - Saint Ignatius High School finished ninth among 26 teams at Strongsville High School on Saturday, September 26. The Wildcats returned to competition after a week off and had three more runners finish within six seconds of one another.
Wilburn was the Wildcats’ top finisher, crossing the line 40 seconds ahead of the team’s next runner. His 20th-place result gave Saint Ignatius a finish near the front of a field that included more than two dozen teams. Aydin Joshi followed in 56th place with a time of 17:23.
Isaac Raddell finished one place and one second behind Joshi, taking 57th in 17:24. Benjamin Tepley completed the group of reported finishers in 63rd place at 17:29. The close spacing of Joshi, Raddell and Tepley gave the Wildcats three finishes in a narrow stretch behind Wilburn.
Ninth place marked the Wildcats’ lowest team finish of their meets reported so far; they had placed in the top three at each of their other meets, including two first place finishes. Saturday’s result came in their first competition following the break, with Wilburn’s top-20 finish and the tightly grouped finishes of Joshi, Raddell and Tepley standing out in the individual results.
The Wildcats will look to bounce back in their next contest on Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Berlin Bear Den Dash.
