Silverdale Baptist Academy pulls away with seven-run fourth in 13-9 win over Gordon Lee

Silverdale Baptist Academy broke open a tight game with a seven-run fourth inning and held off a late push from Gordon Lee (GA) Varsity for a 13-9 home win Monday night in Chattanooga. The Seahawks turned a one-run game into firm control in the decisive frame, then added an insurance run in the fifth and finished it out without needing to bat in the bottom of the seventh.
The game followed a sharp swing in momentum. Silverdale took a 1-0 lead in the first when Brandon Melton helped open the scoring, then added three more runs in the second to move in front 4-0. Drake Dills contributed an RBI in that inning as the Seahawks built early pressure at the plate.
Gordon Lee answered in the third with four runs to erase the deficit and briefly flip the game. P. Groce delivered a two-run contribution during the rally, and the visitors kept the pressure on by adding two more runs in the fourth. That only set the stage for Silverdale's biggest response of the night.
The Seahawks sent seven runs across in the bottom of the fourth to reclaim control at 11-6. Maddux Hasty played a central role in the outburst, driving in three runs while also drawing three walks in the game. Silverdale finished with 13 runs on 11 hits, and the offense also showed patience throughout the night, working 12 walks in 27 at-bats.
Melton turned in one of Silverdale's top offensive performances, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs. Brett Oxford later added the fifth-inning insurance run that pushed the lead to 12-6. The Seahawks also created extra chances on the bases, recording multiple stolen bases, and did all of it without committing an error in the field.
Gordon Lee made one more push with three runs in the sixth, trimming the margin to three, but the comeback stopped there. Silverdale's pitching staff allowed nine hits over seven innings and struck out seven, with Kaleb Kilgore earning the win after working 1 2/3 innings. Gordon Lee finished with nine runs on nine hits and no errors, but the Seahawks' fourth-inning surge remained the difference in a 13-9 result.
