SBEP Titans Fall To Clark Montessori After Big Fifth Inning

Clark Montessori scored six runs in the fifth inning, which helped them defeat the St. Bernard-Elmwood Place Titans 11-3 on Thursday. An error put Clark Montessori on the board in the bottom of the first. The Titans made the score 3-1 in the top of the third after Aiden Rack singled, scoring one run, and Lucas Cannady doubled, scoring two runs. SBEP held on to their lead for a while, but Clark Montessori took control of the game in the bottom of the fifth, scoring six runs on four hits to take the lead, 8-3. Aiden Rack led things off on the hill for St. Bernard-Elmwood Place Varsity Titans. The righty gave up six hits and five runs (four earned) over four innings, striking out seven and walking two. #17 started the game for Clark Montessori. The pitcher gave up seven hits and three runs over five innings, striking out six and walking two. Lucas Cannady provided pop in the middle of SBEP's lineup, and led the Titans with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-4 on the day. Aiden Rack led the Titans in hits, getting three in each of his at-bats. Amare Hicks showed impressive speed, stealing two of SBEP's five stolen bases. The Titans demonstrated patience at the plate, accumulating six walks. Clark Montessori accumulated 10 hits in the game. #17 led Clark Montessori with three hits in three at bats. #7, #23, #17, and #1 each drove in two runs for Clark Montessori. #24 collected two hits for Clark Montessori in four at bats. #8 paced Clark Montessori with two walks. Overall, the team piled up seven walks. #17 and #8 each stole multiple bases for Clark Montessori. Clark Montessori ran wild on the base paths, ending the evening with six stolen bases.
