Titans boys take second, girls finish third in strong showing at Deer Park
St. Bernard-Elmwood Place turned in another encouraging night on the track Thursday, with the Titans boys finishing second with 54 points and the girls placing third with 62 at Deer Park. The results reflected the kind of balanced effort coaches hope to see in the middle of the season, with athletes across the lineup contributing valuable team points.
The girls' third-place finish and the boys' runner-up result showed how competitive SBEP was throughout the meet. From sprints to distance races, from field events to relays, the Titans continued to build momentum with a full-team performance.
That depth stood out as one of the night's biggest storylines. The Titans did not rely on one event group alone. Instead, both teams pieced together points in multiple spots, a sign of growing consistency as the season moves forward. Every finish mattered, and those cumulative efforts helped push the boys into second place and kept the girls firmly in the top three.

The meet also served as another step forward for a program that continues to show competitiveness week by week. Both teams showed great effort throughout the meet and produced a solid overall performance. That kind of progress can be especially important in track and field, where steady improvement often sets the stage for bigger performances later in the spring.
For the Titans, Thursday's results offered plenty to celebrate and plenty to build on. A second-place finish for the boys and a third-place finish for the girls gave the Titans a strong combined showing, and the team's ability to contribute across multiple events should provide confidence heading into the next stretch of the season.
